This is the May 2026 update covering new Netzero features, Powerwall
firmware observations, and user-reported issues. You can subscribe to email updates in the Netzero
app: Settings > Preferences. We will send at most one update per month.
For past updates, see Netzero Updates.
The Monitoring screen was replaced with a new Devices screen that brings all of your energy devices together in one place. EVs, EV chargers, and Powerwalls now appear side by side, so you can check the status of everything at a glance instead of moving between separate screens.
Tap on the device cards to see details (e.g. Powerwall capacity history). You can also download all the diagnostic data with the Download Diagnostics button at the bottom of the screen.
The New Automation screen has been redesigned to make all of the automation triggers clearer.
Time of Day automations can now also be restricted to a time of year, for seasonal schedules (for example, only from Oct 1 to Mar 31). Note: we will bring day-of-week and time-of-year restrictions to all automations soon.
We have also added two new automation triggers:
For users in the UK: Octopus Energy has announced that it is rolling out its Charge Cap, along with an automatic 6-hour limit on smart charging. You can read more about it here: Smart charging and Charge Cap explained. Note: we have not yet observed this change enabled for any Netzero users.
Netzero is already prepared for this change: we limit Intelligent Octopus Go charging to a maximum of 6 hours per day. Even so, we recommend turning on the Charge Cap option in your Octopus app once it becomes available to you.
We have also made several improvements for Intelligent Octopus Go users:
Powerwall firmware updates are managed and deployed by Tesla. As of late May 2026, the latest
version is 26.18.1 for both Powerwall 2 and Powerwall 3.
It is still rolling out: most systems remain on 26.10.3. For detailed tracking data, see
Powerwall Firmware Versions.
We have not seen any issue reports for 26.18.1.
