Netzero’s monitoring features are free. Advanced features that control your Powerwall and connect it to other devices and services need a Netzero Pro subscription after a 30-day free trial.
For prices and the full feature comparison, see the Pricing page. The price in your currency is shown in Settings > Subscription.
On iPhone, iPad, and Android, the purchase goes through the App Store or Google Play, so make sure you are signed in to the right store account on the device. In the web app, the purchase goes through a secure Stripe checkout page.
A subscription belongs to your Tesla account, not to the device or store it was bought on. Once it is active, Netzero Pro works on every device where you sign in with that Tesla account, including the web app and the macOS app.
Can I subscribe from the web app?
Yes. In the web app, Settings > Subscription opens a Stripe checkout page for the monthly or annual plan. The subscription then applies to the mobile apps as well.
If I subscribe during the free trial, when am I charged?
Right away. The trial is not a store trial offer, so the first billing period is charged on the day you subscribe, and the subscription renews one month (or one year) after that. The trial end date is shown in Settings > Subscription.
Does one subscription cover all my devices and energy systems?
It covers every device (iOS, Android, web, and macOS), and up to three energy systems on the same Tesla account. A subscription is meant for a single household: the three-system allowance is there because some homes end up with more than one energy system for installation reasons, for example a second Powerwall system added later, or separate systems for the main house and a garage.
Accounts with more than three energy systems need a multi-system subscription, priced per energy system: contact support@netzero.energy.
What happens when my trial or subscription ends?
Netzero Basic features (dashboards, historical charts, and solar estimates) keep working. Pro features stop working, including:
If Netzero was automatically updating your Powerwall’s utility rate plan, those updates are turned off when the subscription ends, and the rate plan stays as it was last set. After you resubscribe, turn Auto update rate plan back on in the utility rate plan settings.
How do I cancel?
Go to Settings > Subscription and tap Manage or Cancel Subscription. Depending on where you subscribed, this opens the App Store, Google Play, or the Stripe customer portal. For an App Store or Google Play subscription, use a device signed in to the same store account.
You can cancel at any time. Pro features remain active until the end of the current billing period.
How do I get a refund?
For App Store and Google Play purchases, refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not by Netzero. Request one through Apple’s refund page or your Google Play order history.
For subscriptions purchased in the web app, email support@netzero.energy.
Which countries are subscriptions available in?
The United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Japan, New Zealand, and Puerto Rico.
Users in other countries can use all Pro features for free until subscriptions are introduced there.
Availability is based on your account region, which cannot be changed manually.
Why does the price in my currency not match the USD price?
Local prices are not converted from the USD price at today’s exchange rate. Two things make them differ:
The Pricing page lists the prices in the main currencies.
Why a subscription and not a one-time purchase?
Netzero’s costs are ongoing: automations run in the cloud around the clock, Tesla charges for API access, and the app is continuously developed and supported. A subscription matches those costs. The annual plan is the cheapest way to pay and reduces billing to once a year.
I still need help with my subscription.
