This is the July 2026 update covering new Netzero features, Powerwall
firmware observations, and user-reported issues. To manage your email update preferences, go to
Settings > Preferences in the Netzero app. We will send at most one update per month.

Until now, each automation ran on its own: whenever its trigger fired, its actions ran. Sometimes you only want an automation to run when several things are true at once. You can now merge automations, so that the actions run only when all of their triggers apply at the same time. Create each part as a regular automation first, then tap Merge with AND in the automation list and select the automations to combine.
For example: Every day at 8:00 PM, if Powerwall charged up to 80%: Set energy exports to: Everything (solar and battery). See Merged Automations for details.
Homes with more than one energy system (for example two Tesla Gateways) can now see a single aggregate view. Solar, Home, Powerwall, and Grid data is added up across all systems. Select Settings > Switch System > Combined System.
Ohme EV chargers now work with the Intelligent Octopus Go integration: Octopus provides the smart charging schedule for Ohme, so Netzero configures the Powerwall automatically, the same as for any other charger. If you set up automations for Ohme as a workaround (for example “When vehicle charging starts: Set backup reserve to 100%”), pause or remove them before switching on Automate Intelligent Octopus Go in Settings > Utility Rate Plan – leaving them in place can conflict with the integration.
In May we noted that Octopus Energy had announced its Charge Cap and a 6-hour limit on smart charging, but that we had not yet seen it enabled for any Netzero users. That changed on July 6. As of late July, about 28% of Netzero users on Intelligent Octopus Go have been moved to the new tariff.
If your account has been moved, you may notice that the Powerwall no longer charges from the grid during every smart charging slot. Once your smart charging for the day (measured midday to midday) would exceed 6 hours, the import rate goes to peak, so Netzero leaves the Powerwall in Preserve Charge for that slot rather than charging it at the peak rate.
We recommend turning on Charge Cap in the Octopus app once it is available to you. Octopus then trims the slots it schedules to fit the 6-hour allowance. For details, see Intelligent Octopus Go.
Powerwall firmware updates are managed and deployed by Tesla. As of late July 2026, 26.18.3 is
installed on about 91% of both Powerwall 2 and Powerwall 3 systems. 26.26.0 is the newest
version and is just starting to roll out. For detailed tracking data, see

We have also seen Powerwall 2 systems request a battery calibration for the first time (still uncommon), and Tesla continues to disable Powerwall 2 batteries as part of its recall.
