Netzero pairing with your Powerwall enables advanced features like Go Off-Grid automations and Local Monitoring.
During pairing, Netzero registers a secure access key on the Powerwall so it can communicate directly with the device. You can remove this key at any time in either the Netzero or Tesla app.
Pairing is supported for both Powerwall 2 and Powerwall 3 systems. This feature requires a Netzero subscription.
You must be physically near the Powerwall to toggle its power switch during pairing. In Netzero, go to Settings > Powerwall Pairing and tap Begin Pairing. After pairing starts, you have about two minutes to toggle the Powerwall switch.
The switch location differs between Powerwall generations:
If you have more than one Powerwall, only one switch needs to be toggled.
After pairing is complete, the Powerwall Pairing screen shows Paired status with a green checkmark.
If something goes wrong, remove the pairing in either the Netzero or Tesla app and try again.
Once paired, you will see new automation actions under Off-grid control: Go off-grid and Reconnect to the grid. These automations can help with certain utility rate plans:
Powerwall pairing also enables Local Monitoring: more frequent dashboard energy-flow updates that continue even when internet access is down.
